Dog sledding at VBL....

Burton Penner (http://www.canada-dogsled.com/) came by the lodge today with one of his dog teams. These dogs are bred to want to run and they are very excited about "getting going"....at least judging by the amount of yipping and barking that goes on! Our two dogs seemed quite mystified about the whole thing.

  2. Gord,

I had the same reaction as Perchmaster. It reminded me of a company up in Bayfield Wisconsin that actually offers dog sledding as an activity in the winter. See:

  4. I'ld like to do a trip with Burton some day....he's an interesting guy....log builder, trapper, dog sledder, artist, etc. A lot of his trails are south of Eagle on some very scenic lakes. Besides, I've always wanted to stay in his trappers cabin on McGregor Lake in the winter.

  5. Gord,

I'm not sure how I missed the URL in your original post. I didn't realize that Burton was offering dog sled trips...very cool! A trip with the dogs to the trapper cabin on McGregor combined with some lake trout fishing on Clearwater would provide a great winter escape. I met Burton at the art show at the fort in VB.
